Our Chadmoore Story

The name "Chadmoore" originated from the streets of Chadwick and Moore in South Philadelphia. This is where Peter "Tony" Cona started a drycleaning and tailoring shop and started renting tuxedos. Frank Cona, his son, would drive around town delivering and picking them up.

In 1964, after Frank graduated from Villanova University, he moved the business and opened Chadmoore Formal Wear at 2138 S. Broad Street. Through the years Chadmoore Formal Wear earned a reputation of being a great place to rent a tuxedo for any formal occasion. Business grew and Frank purchased 2140 S Broad and doubled their property. Wendy, Frank's Daughter, started working on Broad Street at this time. Wendy and Frank shared an eye for style and fashion. Together they made purchases for the business that would aid in their continued success over the years.

In 2003, Chadmoore expanded into South Jersey where we've been serving the Washington Township area for over 21 years. This location was started by Nick Graziano, Wendy's husband, and has been running under Wendy's management since 2006. Frank and Wendy decided to close the Broad Street location in 2006, which allowed them to focus on expanding their business in Washington Township and Frank was able to enjoy his retirement years.

We are proud to say that Chadmoore Formal Wear has been family owned and operated for over 60 years. Sadly, Frank passed away in March of 2024. Wendy and family intend to continue to serve the Washington Township area for many years to come to honor her father's memory.

Meet the Staff

Wendy- Owner

I am blessed to wake up every day and do what I love! Continuing the tradition of running my family business touches my heart more, now that Dad is no longer with us. I enjoyed working with all the special people who have worked here throughout the years! They each hold a special place in my heart! My business has been a gift, and I am proud and happy for the privilege of formally dressing so many customers through the years.

"Being born into this company" has been a blessing. I was taught everything I know about formal wear from my mom and grandpop which makes working here even more special. Getting to work alongside my mom every day is one of my favorite parts of this job. Chadmoore will always have a piece of my heart, and I am so fortunate to be part of this team and family business.

55 years ago, I walked into Chadmoore Formal Wear and asked the owner, Frank, for a job. Today and 4 generations later, I am so grateful to say that I'm still here after all these years! As I was told then, "treat every customer like they are family" and we do! I look forward to seeing you and making your special day, Special.

Aiden

I've been a part of the Chadmoore family for roughly six years now, it was my first job and has helped shape me into the man I am today. I take pride in what we do here, making sure every customer looks and feels amazing for whatever special events life brings their way!

My experience working at Chadmoore has been the feeling of family, friendship, and camaraderie. I really enjoy being part of a knowledgeable and customer service-oriented team and it is a pleasure to see our customers satisfied.

"I never consider Chadmoore 'working.' I love getting the texts asking me if I can come help because its more like hanging out with my family. We talk, we laugh, we joke, but most importantly, we make the customers feel like family. We include them in our conversations, we joke, and have fun. We make them feel and look great for their special occasions. It's why I've been here for 20 years and won't ever leave. I'm a teacher and a part-time bartender, but Chadmoore will always be my favorite job."

Jacob

"Working at Chadmoore is my first job while at school at Triton High School. I enjoy working with everyone here."

"Chadmoore's work environment has been wonderful to be apart of."
